DAY 01: PUNTA ARENAS: Trekking Magellan National Preserve

Close to 8 km west of Punta Arenas, we find the Magellan National Preserve, created in 1932. Once in the park we will head towards the starting point of our trekking trail "El Mirador", approximately 1 km long (45 minutes of easy walking); through the path we will reach the Valley of the River of Las Minas, of great historical importance since most of the coal used in the region until the mid XX century was mined in this place. The returning route will take us through another interesting pathway 3.600 meters long (1 and 1/2 hours) that will lead us up to a hill where we will have the best view of the Strait of Magellan, the City of Punta Arenas and the legendary Isle of Tierra del Fuego.
