DAY 01: PUERTO NATALES: Navigation Serrano River towards Torres del Paine

Early departure from Puerto Natales to take a vessel and navigate the Sound of Ultima Esperanza (Last Hope). During the tour it is possible to watch an environment surrounded by hills and forests, sea lions frolicking on the rocks, and in the sector called "Colony of Cormorants" we will appreciate these huge birds.
The vessel will approach the Balmaceda Glacier and then come to a halt at the Serrano, where we will set foot to take a hike through the forest up to the shores of the lagoon of icebergs. It is usual to see massive chunks of ice plunging into the waters of the fiord. From here we will continue on a zodiac to navigate upstream the Serrano River. The river snakes among the wildest landscapes of the Torres del Paine National Park, with views of native forests, glaciers and mountains. After approx 2 hours we will come ashore within the park and a vehicle will take us towards the Administrative Site, where our excursion ends. Optionally you may go back to Puerto Natales or be transferred to a hotel in the park.
Note: Navigating on a zodiac type of boat exposes passengers to the wind and water; therefore, it is advisable to wear thermal items of clothing and a cap for the cold. The excursion includes a watertight suit.
