DAY 01: IQUIQUE: Full day tour Isluga National Park and Geyser of Puchuldiza

Full day excursion to Isluga National Park. Departure in the morning towards the highest summits of the Andean Cordillera, where we will find very ancient Aymara settlements with their ancestral customs still alive, beside the mystical scenery of the Altiplano. The small hamlets with adobe houses surrounding the traditional church are located by the wetlands, grasslands of high altitude, higher than 4.000 meters above sea level. Herds of llamas and alpacas are abundant in the surroundings, all framed by the snowcapped volcanoes. We will visit the Town of Isluga and the Geyser of Puchuldiza, a spurt of boiling water that forms an amazing tower of ice when it falls. Lunch on the way. Return to Iquique at dusk.

CHILEAN GASTRONOMY
Chilean cuisine is very diverse. Among its typical dishes we have: Empanada de Pino (dough stuffed with onion, meat, raisins and olives), Pastel de Choclo (made mainly of corn with meat, eggs and olives), Porotos Granados (tender potatoes cooked with gourd and corn), Cazuela de Ave o Vacuno (clear soup of chicken or beef with boiled vegetables), besides those typical of each region.
Lastly, you can not fail to taste the exquisite Mote con Huesillos, a dessert elaborated from a boiled fruit and mote wheat.
