DAY 01: PUERTO MONTT (OR PUERTO VARAS): Tour Frutillar and Puerto Octay

Frutillar and Puerto Octay are two localities sited on the shores of Lake Llanquihue, whose architecture has been strongly influenced by the German colonization, with the natural setting of three volcanoes at the end of the lake: the Osorno, the Calbuco and the Puntiagudo. The excursion includes a visit to the German Colonial Museum of Frutillar, and a tour to watch its well attended gardens and its architecture with reminiscences from Bavaria. From there we will go to Puerto Octay, also located on the north shore of the lake, a city that was the port of shipment for the agricultural produces bound for Osorno. We will visit its wonderful boarding school, its old streets and the legendary Centinela Hotel, located on the Centinela Peninsula. Lunch and return to Puerto Varas in the afternoon.
