DAY 01: LA SERENA: Fray Jorge National Park and Valle del Encanto
Early departure from your hotel to go to Fray Jorge National Park, declared Biosphere Reserve for being a valuable forest containing species that nowadays can only be seen in the wet regions in southern Chile. In this place, thanks to the coastal humidity and the high peaks, a forest that serves as a refuge for birds and terrestrial species is preserved. After touring the trails within the park we will enjoy a box lunch. We will continue towards Valle del Encanto, a small ravine occupied by the tribes of the Molle Culture during the VII century AD. The valley was most likely used as a ritualistic place, since it is full of petroglyphs, pictographs and flattened stones. Return in the afternoon to La Serena.
