WEATHER
Pucon has a mild weather with winter downpours and a short relatively dry season in the summer months (December to March). The annual precipitations are above 2000 mm, while the thermal regime registers an oscillation of 5.0° C with an annual average temperature of almost 12.0° C, an average temperature of 8.0° C in the coldest month (July) and a temperature of 15° C in the warmest month (February).
WHAT TO PACK
Consider the chance of rainfalls during the entire year, therefore pack impermeable clothes, water resistant footwear for the excursions, warming clothes, polar, gloves, bathing suit both for the wintertime and the summertime, sandals for the thermal baths, sun cap, sunscreen and shades.
WATER
There is fresh water in almost the entire territory, although it is advisable to drink bottled water in rural areas and if you are not used to tap water.
HEALTH
In Pucon and Villarrica you will find hospitals and private clinics, as well as fully stocked pharmacies.
CHILEAN GASTRONOMY
Chilean cuisine is very diverse. Among its typical dishes we have: Empanada de Pino (dough stuffed with onion, meat, raisins and olives), Pastel de Choclo (made mainly of corn with meat, eggs and olives), Porotos Granados (tender potatoes cooked with gourd and corn), Cazuela de Ave o Vacuno (clear soup of chicken or beef with boiled vegetables), besides those typical of each region.
Lastly, you can not fail to taste the exquisite Mote con Huesillos, a dessert elaborated from a boiled fruit and mote wheat
In the region of Pucón, the German kuchenes are a classic produce of the German colonization of the zone, along with the cecinas (salty meat smoked or sun dried), sausages and they marzipan.

ANTARCTICA
We will set off early in the morning from Pucon towards Valdivia, one of the most beautiful cities in Chile. Founded in 1552, it offers many attractions besides the amazing Calle-Calle River. The bay contains numerous beaches and interesting places such as Niebla, Mancera Island and Corral Bay. In these places there are Spanish forts from the XVII century; "Pure and Clean Conception of Monfort de Lemus", the Palace of San Pedro de Alcantara and the Castle of "San Sebastian de la Cruz". Another place of interest is the Austral University with its spectacular Botanic Garden. Besides, we will visit the Museum of History, located in the house of Carlos Anwandter on the Isle of Teja; it has a very interesting anthropologic collection.
