Paine Massif During the trip to reach Lake Grey and its ice deposit, we watch the entire Torres del Paine National Park, all of the Paine Massif, the Pehoe, Sarmiento, Toro and Grey Lakes; flora and fauna typical of the region. It is an excellent excursion to get a general vision of the National Park. After 3 hours we arrive in Lake Grey and set off on a half-an-hour hike on its shores, where the icebergs breaking off from the glacier astonish us with their intense colors.

Tour Salto Grande (Big Jump) – Half a day – Easy

Lake Pehoé The route up to Salto Grande (Big Jump) runs across the park’s inner paths, at which distance the mountains of the Paine Massif can be appreciated in their entire magnitude. We will take a brief hike to watch Salto Grande, the largest waterfall in the park, which is formed due to the different ground levels of Lake Nordenskjold and Lake Pehoe. Return to the hotel.

Horse ride or hike to Lake Nordenskjold – Half a day – Intermediate

Horse - Torres del Paine It is a 2 to 3 hour long hike of low intensity surrounding Mountain Almirante Nieto that goes around the romantic Inge Lagoon, ending at the north shore of Lake Nordenskjold. This beautiful trail is a spectacular opportunity to enjoy a brief and light walk in the midst of a powerful natural environment. The lake stretches at the foot of the colossal Mountain Almirante Nieto appearing in its entire splendor at the end of the hike. Surely an adorable stroll.

Trekking or horse ride to the base of Las Torres – Full day – Demanding

Horse It is a 6 to 8 hour trekking or horse ride excursion highly demanding. The route climbs up through the Valley of Ascencio bound for the legendary Torres del Paine. After going across dense forests we will reach a point from where we can only go further on foot until we finally get to an inner lagoon, upon whose waters the imposing granite needles of Las Torres del Paine reflect. Later we will set off on our way back to the lodge.

Mirador Grey Glacier Transfer from the lodge towards the shores of Lake Grey to get on board a catamaran that will take us across the lake up to this immense glacier that is breaking off from Campo de Hielo Sur (South Ice Field). Navigating in front of the glacier will allow us to watch the walls of ice and the icebergs gleaming with fascinating colors, having the Cuernos (Horns) del Paine as a background.

Tour Paine – Full day – Easy

There is a variety of attractions within the park, and we will manage to grasp most of its beauty in one day visiting Paine Cascade, Vantage Point of Los Cuernos, Salto Grande, Visitors’ Center and icebergs on the Grey Peninsula. During this tour we will have different views of Massif Paine, and the lakes and rivers surrounding it.

Horse ride Lake Toro – Half a day – Intermediate

The excursion on horseback to the vantage point of Lake Toro is a mild ride that goes through the mountains of the sector of the Serrano River, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Paine Cordillera, the Grey Glacier, Mount Ferrier, Mount Donoso, etc. After arriving in the vantage point of Lake Toro we will take a 15-minute rest, to then continue surrounding the lake and returning to the Serrano sector across an old cattle trail of the Cattle Society of the Paine River.

Trekking Base of Las Torres – Full day – Demanding

This is one of the most visited places within the park. Setting off from Las Torres Lodge we cross the Ascencio Valley for approximately 2 hours until we reach the Chilean refuge. Then we have an easy hour walking through a forest of southern beeches. Lastly, we get to the moraine reaching an altitude of 1000 m. From here it is possible to see the three Towers, the Nest of Condors and the south face of Mount Almirante Nieto. Box lunch. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

Trekking Valley of the Frenchman and Grey Glacier – Full day – Demanding

Valley of the Frenchman After being transferred in a vehicle up to the sector of Pudeto, we will get on board a catamaran that will cross Lake Pehoe and drop us in the area of the homonymous refuge. From there, and after a 2-hour trek of intermediate level, we enter the impressive Valley of the Frenchman, which penetrates into the massif having the ice of the Paine Grande as its eternal sentinels. In the midst of a wooded landscape and in plain sight of the spectacular chunks of ice breaking off from the glacier, we will arrive in the so-called Italian Campsite, from where we will continue our excursion for a further few kilometers. Now, if our condition and physical shape is optimum, we may get up to the outskirts of the British Campsite, a spectacular spot in which the view of the inner summits of the Paine appear before our eyes in their entire magnitude. Later we will return using the same route.
