Tour Description
DAY 01: PUERTO MONTT / PUERTO VARAS
Reception at the airport in Puerto Montt and transfer to your hotel in Puerto Varas.
Lodging.
DAY 02: PUERTO VARAS: Rafting Petrohué River
Morning off for optional tours.
Transfer bound for Petrohué River. Deliver of gear to the partakers (neoprene suits, windbreakers, lifejackets, hardhats, oars). Safety briefing. Departure on professional self bailing rafts through the rapids grade 3 to 4 of the Petrohué River, famous for its emerald colored waters. You will enjoy wonderful views of the Puntiagudo, Osorno and Calbuco Volcanoes while local birds such as cormorants and green kingfishers will keep us company. After 14 km (1 ½ hours) we reach the rafts’ endpoint. After a snack we return to Puerto Varas. Bring a bathing suit and a towel. You need to know how to swim and be over 12 years of age.

DAY 03: PUERTO VARAS: Canopy, Osorno Volcano
Breakfast. Morning off.
In the afternoon we set off from Puerto Varas bound for Ensenada watching the cared after country landscape surrounding Lake Llanquihue. Once at the canopying place, we will get a previous instruction briefing before enjoying an excursion of pure adrenaline, in a 2 km tour in the air over the slopes of the Osorno Volcano. There are eleven platforms hoisted at a height of 10 to 15 meters above the ground. The descent takes about 2 hours. Includes all the gear. Bring comfortable footwear and pants.
Lodging.
DAY 04: PUERTO VARAS: Transfer to the airport
Breakfast. In due time transfer to the airport or connection with other programs in the zone.

WEATHER
The zone of Puerto Montt has a lukewarm and rainy weather with annual average temperatures of about 11º C, with precipitations during the whole year, although concentrated in the winter, in the months from June through August; average rainfalls in the zone are close to 1500 mm and in the mountains they are more abundant and with snowfalls in the winter. The months between November and March are the sunniest with nice temperatures that can reach up to 30 ºC.
WHAT TO PACK
Have always something at hand for the rain, polar, comfortable hiking shoes, sun cap, shades and sunscreen; bathing suit, sandals and a small backpack for your daily excursions.
WATER
There is fresh water in almost the entire territory, although it is advisable to drink bottled water in rural areas and if you are not used to tap water.
HEALTH
In Puerto Montt you will find magnificently equipped hospitals and clinics with emergency service 24 hours a day.
CHILEAN GASTRONOMY
Chilean cuisine is very diverse. Among its typical dishes we have: Empanada de Pino (dough stuffed with onion, meat, raisins and olives), Pastel de Choclo (made mainly of corn with meat, eggs and olives), Porotos Granados (tender potatoes cooked with gourd and corn), Cazuela de Ave o Vacuno (clear soup of chicken or beef with boiled vegetables), besides those typical of each region.
Lastly, you can not fail to taste the exquisite Mote con Huesillos, a dessert elaborated from a boiled fruit and mote wheat.
