Pucón is a small and picturesque city resort located on the shores of Lake Villarrica and at the foot of the homonymous volcano. Surrounded by national parks, volcanoes, mountains and thermal baths just a few kilometers away from the city, it also has beaches on the warm waters of the lake and a varied nightlife, which turn this locality into the perfect place to spend some active vacations enclosed by an exuberant display of nature.

Tour Description
DAY 01: TEMUCO - PUCÓN
Reception at the airport of Temuco and transfer to Pucón, located at the side of the Villarrica Lake and Volcano and surrounded by beautiful national parks and forest reserves, paradise for adventure sports and entertainment.
Lodging
DAY 02: PUCÓN: Ascension to the Villarrica Volcano
Equipped with all that is needed for this adventure we will reach the ski resort, from there we will set off on a zigzagging hike up to the crater of the volcano, standing at 2.847 meters above sea level, from where we will enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the entire valley and the numerous lakes of this lacustrine zone with the help of an experienced mountain guide. This activity can be enjoyed throughout the year if the weather conditions allow it. This excursion is programmed for the first day so that it can be postponed for the following days in your program if the weather conditions are not suitable.

DAY 03: PUCÓN: Rafting Lower Trancura
Breakfast. Transfer to the adventure’s starting point. This raft ride takes place in the lower zone of the Trancura River (grade III); awesome rapids will take you through native sceneries of great beauty. Before setting off on this adventure you will be given neoprene suits and the necessary instructions, which along with experienced guides will allow you to enjoy this adventure. Snack when coming ashore and return to the hotel.
Afternoon off, we suggest you visit some of the numerous thermal baths in the area.

DAY 04: PUCÓN - TEMUCO: transfer to the airport
Breakfast.
In due time transfer to the airport of Temuco.

WEATHER
Pucón has a mild weather with winter downpours and a short relatively dry season in the summer months (December to March). The annual precipitations are above 2000 mm, while the thermal regime registers an oscillation of 5.0° C with an annual average temperature of almost 12.0° C, an average temperature of 8.0° C in the coldest month (July) and a temperature of 15° C in the warmest month (February).
WHAT TO PACK
Consider the chance of rainfalls during the entire year, therefore pack impermeable clothes, water resistant footwear for the excursions, warming clothes, polar, gloves, bathing suit both for the winter and the summer, sandals for the thermal baths, sun cap, sunscreen and shades.
WATER
There is fresh water in almost the entire territory, although it is advisable to drink bottled water in rural areas and if you are not used to tap water.
HEALTH
In Pucón and Villarrica you will find hospitals and private clinics, as well as fully stocked pharmacies.
CHILEAN GASTRONOMY
Chilean cuisine is very diverse. Among its typical dishes we have: Empanada de Pino (dough stuffed with onion, meat, raisins and olives), Pastel de Choclo (made mainly of corn with meat, eggs and olives), Porotos Granados (tender potatoes cooked with gourd and corn), Cazuela de Ave o Vacuno (clear soup of chicken or beef with boiled vegetables), besides those typical of each region.
Lastly, you can not fail to taste the exquisite Mote con Huesillos, a dessert elaborated from a boiled fruit and mote wheat
In the region of Pucón, the German kuchenes are a classic produce of the German colonization of the zone, along with the cecinas (salty meat smoked or sun dried), sausages and they marzipan.
