The navigation route goes along different canals until finally entering the mouth of the Témpanos River to get to the Lagoon of San Rafael, which houses the millenarian glacier.
After an approximately 2 hour-stay, the vessel returns to Chacabuco, where the arrival will be around 22:30 hours, to then be transferred to the port's hotel.

The General Carrera Lake has a microclimate rather dry and sunny, though there is always the chance of rainfalls and cold days.
