SKI AND SNOWBOARD LESSONS

Ski and Snowboard School
Valle Nevado has a staff of more than 50 qualified instructors of different nationalities, all of whom speak more than two languages, which allow rookies to initiate themselves on skiing and snowboarding with all the safety and confidence required, while the expert skiers may improve their abilities in all the snow sports modalities.

Group Lessons: They last 3 hours, the groups have a maximum of 8 students where all have a similar age and skiing experience.

Private Lessons: They last 1 hour for both adults and minors and they can incorporate two additional students.

Semi-Private Lessons: For 3 to 5 individuals of a similar level who hire an instructor to learn more specialized styles or techniques, such as skiing and snowboarding on dust snow, introduction to competition, free ride, free style and carving.

Mini School: For the apprenticeship of kids between 4 and 7 years of age, where the kids may initiate themselves in the world of skiing on a snow yard, guided by qualified instructors.

Chopper Ski and Snowboard: Valle Nevado has the exclusive service of the helicopter company Lassa, with a Bell 407 helicopter permanently stationed at the ski resort.
Summits of up to 4200 metres can be reached in flights carrying up to 5 individuals accompanied by a guide. The options for the practice of this specialty are enormous and of different levels of difficulty, where you will always find an unexplored valley.

WEATHER:
High mountain weather with well differentiated seasons. Dry and hot southern hemisphere's summers and cold winters with abundant snow. Precipitations normally start on April and prolong up to November. The weather is very unsettled during the ski season, therefore it is recommended to always keep a coat at hand. The zone has an average of 80% clear days around the year, so you may have clear days with a pleasant temperature on the sheer winter, though temperatures may drop down to minus 10° C during cold days due to the altitude.

WAYS OF ACCESS:
46 kilometres away from Santiago only, going through the paved road to Farallones which runs for 32 kilometres up to the detour to Valle Nevado. There are 14 kilometres to the winter resort from this point. It is mandatory to use snow chains at mountain roads and you may rent them along the way.
Private transfers from the Santiago Airport or your Santiago hotel can be requested as an optional addition to your programme. The transfer takes approximately 2 hours.

ROAD TIMETABLE:
Due to safety reasons, Police in Chile (Carabineros) restricts the access to the cordillera during the ski season under the following parameters:

Mondays to Fridays (save holydays)
Both ways all day long.

Saturdays, Sundays and holydays
Uphill between 08:00 and 14:00 hours.
Downhill between 16:00 and 20:00 hours. Without restriction between 20:00 and 08:00 hours of the following day.

Note: Timetable subject to change according to the instructions of the Carabineros. It is advisable to pay special attention to this timetable for it may influence your flight reservation due to the arriving and departing hours of the airlines.

WHAT TO PACK UP:
Skiing clothes for different climatic conditions, considering that there may be both sunny days with high temperatures and foggy days with temperatures of below minus 10° Celsius. Inside the hotel you may use a more casual clothe or something rather elegant for the nights. Bathing suit. The power output in Chile is of 220 volts so you might need an adaptor for your appliances. There is no pharmacy nor supplies in the area, hence you must carry with you all you may need (medications, photography, etc.)

WATER:
Water is potable but we recommend you to drink bottled water if you are not used to water different than that of your country.

HEALTH:
Santiago has excellent clinics and hospitals with all medical specialties. The hotel has medic and first aid service, as well as the option of evacuating guests by helicopter if it is required, depending on the weather conditions.

IMPORTANT: Enjoy Corporation keeps the right to make, with no previous notice, modifications in the schedule of the excursions or trips, due to climatic conditions, level of the rivers, arriving or departing time of planes or buses, or for any other relevant reason, in order to guarantee the best development of your trip.

PAYMENTS:

Individual Reservation Payment:

1. Sign or warrant: 30% of the total once the reservation has been confirmed.
2. Balance: 30 days before the date of the reservation, discounting the commission.
3. Last minute reservation: In the case of reservations solicited less than 30 days before the desired date of arrival to the Hotel, clients must prepay 100% of the reservation at that moment, discounting the commission.

CANCELLATIONS:

All the cancellations have to be demanded in writing, via fax or e-mail to Turismo Enjoy Chile or directly to the hotel in case of emergency. The cancellation policy is as follows:

Individual Reservations:

- 60 days before arrival to the hotel: charge of 15 % of the total reservation
- 59 to 30 days before arrival to the hotel: charge of 35 % of the total reservation
- 29 to 0 days before arrival to the hotel: charge of 100 % of the total reservation

EARLY CHECK-OUTS

It is considered an early check-out when the passenger leaves the hotel before the date stipulated on their original reservation. In such cases Valle Nevado will not refund any of the unused services.

LATE ARRIVALS

When the passenger checks-in one or two days after the arrival date of their reservation, Valle Nevado will not refund any of the unused services. Likewise, their stay will not be reschedule to the following days.

POST-SEASON BALANCES

If for any given reason or cause, the agency or operator keeps unpaid reservations at the closure of the accounting processes of the year 2008, the operator in question will be immerse in a causal of exclusion of the said status for Valle Nevado during the next season 2009.

GROUPS

A group reservation is understood as a minimum of 20 passengers soliciting the same reservation for a determined period. This is the only case wherein the policy of the liberated, by which one out of every 20 adult passengers paid under the same reservation (additional beds are not included) is liberated in base of a double room, will be applied.
Valle Nevado will not accept individual reservations during the same time period to be summed up as a group for the authorization of a liberated guest.
This group policy is not valid for the Holyday Season, nor for the snowboard and ski world championships dates during the months of August and September 2008 (exact days yet to be confirmed).

LACK OF SNOW POLICY

Valle Nevado has a modern system for making snow. However, if all lifters are closed due to the lack of snow during any date of the season, Valle Nevado will refund 100% of the amount paid for each reservation corresponding to that date.

Otherwise, the cancelled payments may also be accredited to reservations in other dates during the same season 2008, using the deposited amount as a voucher in case there are any rate differences between the weeks or products in question.

CLOSED ROADS POLICY

The access road to the Andes Mountain range is maintained by the Ministry of Public Works of Chile, and it is responsibility of the said Ministry to clear the road in case of snowfalls. Even though Valle Nevado offers support and machinery during such events, Valle Nevado is not responsible for the state of the road.

When facing this situation, Valle Nevado will proceed in the following manner:

- For those passengers stranded in Santiago without being able to make it to Valle Nevado, they must directly assume the cost of their stay at Santiago while the road is closed, and the unused nights of their stay at Valle Nevado will be accredited to them. In this case, the passenger will have the option of choosing if their credit is transferred to their extra account, they use it for a future reservation within the same season, or negotiate the refunding with their agency or operator as well.

- In the case of passengers who are in Valle Nevado without being able to descend from the mountain, and must stay overnight, lodging during the first night will be charged to the account of the passenger at the normal fee. If the stay is extended for a second night, they will have a 50% discount from the normal fee. These tariffs are not commissionable for the agency or operator.

- For the effects of flight modifications or transfer services, passengers must contact directly with their agency or operator. Although Valle Nevado has no responsibility to that respect, it will do its best effort to help its guests.

- Valle Nevado offers the possibility of taking the transport service of a helicopter, which will operate if the weather conditions are favourable only. This service is subject to availability and the passenger must assume the cost that its operation implies.
