The Thermal Spa and Ski Resort of Termas de Chillán is located at 1650 metres above sea level, in the cordilleran skirts of the Chillán Volcano, surrounded by exuberant native vegetation. It is the most complete ski and vacation resort of Chile, and with the most options for visitors. It is open all year round, offering an ample range of activities such as golf, horseback rides, trekking, mountain bike, mountaineering, fishing, canopy, and thermal bathes, among others during the southern hemisphere's summer. In the winter it works as a Thermal Spa and a Ski Resort, offering the most varied options for winter sports in the country: it has a circuit for Nordic ski, options for randonnée, Alpine ski, snow motor skis, dog drawn sleds, chopper ski and ski school. All of these within a unique natural environment and a complete and modern lodging and thermal infrastructure. The thermal waters have a temperature that oscillates between 27 and 65 degrees Celsius, being suitable for treatments such as arthritis, and skin and respiratory affections. Season: Ski season from June to October. The rest of the year is open as a spa and recreation centre. Location: At 82 kilometres from Chillán, 407 kilometres south of Santiago, in the VII Region of Bio Bio, at the skirts of the Chillán Volcano. Ways of access: At the kilometre 82 of the route from Chillán to Las Trancas Valley. If coming from abroad, you need to take a flight to Santiago, and then a connection up to Concepción. You can also take a bus or train up to Chillán, from where a vehicle from the hotel can pick you up. Road restrictions: None.
The ski resort has a complete and modern infrastructure for the amplest range of activities: hotels, ski tracks (snowboard, Nordic ski, Alpine ski and randonnée), gear rental, ski school, recreational activities, thermal spa, service centre and restaurants.

Termas de Chillán offers a regular transfer service to the ski resort departing from Chillán and Concepción in connection with flights, trains and buses, from 08:00 to 20:00 hours. Regular buses can also be taken at the Chillán bus terminal. Transportation Fees:

A complete ski school with a staff of expert teachers from different nationalities is the one offered by Termas de Chillán to all its visitors. The said school has instructors for all levels and the diverse modalities of snow sports, ranging from Alpine and Nordic ski to snowboard. In this way, our visitors will be able to take lessons lasting from one hour to a full day on a daily basis, either individually or as part of a group. Tariffs 2005 Ski School

Restaurants Visitors will find at their disposition a cafeteria and a Club House Restaurant at the tracks. The hotels have their own services for their guests. Thermal Spa As a thermal centre it has nine sulphur and iron rich pools opened all year long, besides three spa centres, one of them with machines with state of the art technology. There are Jacuzzis and sulphur bathes, cosmetic treatments, mud therapy and massages as well.
The Ski Resort has 28 tracks carefully conditioned, with a total of 35 kilometres prepared to enjoy these passionate sports in all of its magnitude and with a potentiality of 10000 hectares of skiing domain. You may access each of the tracks through nine means of elevation (1 triple chair, 3 double chairs and 5 draggers), by which you can appreciate the vertical gradient of 1100 metres which allows us to have a 13 kilometre long track called Las Tres Marías, the longest in South America, with fascinating virgin snow and inserted amongst native woods of millenarian trees. 30% of the prepared surface is for beginners, 40% for medium level and the remaining 30% is destined for expert skiers who love hard challenges. For those sportspeople who require to rent any kind of gear, Termas de Chillán has three fully stocked Ski Rentals located at the Gran Hotel, the Pirigallo Hotel and the Service Centre, wherein one can find equipment for all levels, from basic to parabolic, both for children and adults. Randonnée Amazing and extensive valleys, with multiple slopes, are present due to the majestic geography of the Chillán Volcano. Its ample slants allow the appreciation of an extraordinary place where the imposing Andean Cordillera is its main character. Chopper Ski Termas de Chillán has a potentiality of 10000 hectares for the practice of Chopper Ski which permit a great diversity of alternatives for the descent, thus allowing the opportunity of practicing this sport for both expert and intermediate skiers. With the purpose of achieving the maximum satisfaction and safety of all our visitors, each descent is guided by expert patrols who know the terrain well. Moreover, you will have the chance of appreciating the magnitude and beauty of all this vast cordilleran territory by means of panoramic flights aboard a helicopter, which can be directly rented at the Ski School. Besides, it is possible to hire the transportation service from the Cities of Santiago, Concepción and Chillán to Termas de Chillán. Motor Ski Circuit Another one of the many activities that you can realise at our mountain resort is the rental of motor skis, on which you can run through a circuit specially habilitated for this activity and wherein you and your kin will enjoy a truly amusing high speed tour. Dog Drawn Sleds A truly unforgettable experience is constituted by the chance of travelling in a sled pulled by Alaskan Malamute dogs.
