Braun
Menendez Regional Museum
Presents an interesting exhibit of objects that testify to the historical development of Patagonia. The museum -inaugurated in 1983- occupies a magnificent palace built in 1905 and formerly belonging to the Braun - Menendez, owners of the greatest fortune in the area. From those opulent times date its furniture and European tapestries.

"Maggiorino Borgatello" Salesian Museum
It was created in 1893 by the Salesian missionaries and is one of
the oldest in Chile. Currently it exhibits ethnographic, archaeological
and anthropological collections, as well as specimens of Patagonian
flora and fauna.

Museo del Recuerdo ("The Museum of Memory")
Exhibits carriages, machinery, tools and different objects used by pioneers that settled here. It also has a Marine Pavilion and a replica of a typical colonial home. The Museum was founded in 1969 and is the seat of the Patagonian Institute of the Universidad de Magallanes (Magellan University). It is 4 kilometers northeast of Punta Arenas.

Museo Militar Austral ("Southern Military Museum")
Using photographs and other historically valuable objects, it shows the contributions made by the army from the building of Fort Bulnes up to the foundation of Punta Arenas. It was built in 1921.

Punta Arenas Naval and Maritime Museum
Was created in 1995 with the purpose of showing the participation of the Chilean Navy in local development. It has a collection of paintings, photos, scale models and navy relics and instruments.
