PUCON
WEATHER and CLIMATE
The homogeneous and undying greenness that embellishes Pucon and its surroundings, is a clear signal that the rains know nothing about seasons in general and dry seasons in particular in this locality of the IX Region of La Araucania, for they appear sporadically or stormy at any time of the year.
Due to its characteristics, the weather in Pucon is regarded as mild and rainy. Its annual average temperature is of 12° Celsius, with a maximum of 17° C (in January) and a minimum of 7.6° Celsius (in July). Regarding its pluvial precipitations, they can reach up to 1180 mm a year approximately.
Rainfalls diminish in the summer (between October and March) in Pucon, as in the rest of the localities south of Temuco and the Island of Chiloe, being January and February the months with the least rain showers; hence, they are the most suitable for travellers. Either way, never fail to pack a raincoat.
