Chile is well known for its spectacular rivers, ideal for downstream whitewater rowing through aggressive waters. Santiago, its capital is no exception, because the torrential waters of the great Maipo, formed by tributaries carrying meltwater from the Cordillera snows is ranked class III and IV, offering adrenalin-packed adventure to rafting and kayak zealots.

Maipo River, the part that is recommended for whitewater sailing goes from the De las Animas Cascade up to the town of San Jose de Maipo, where the river is at 1,100 meters, with a 16 km downstream run. The course is full of obstacles and major rapids. Access: San Jose de Maipo, 52 kilometers from Santiago. Class: III and IV.

Teno River, located in the VII Region del Maule (Wine Trail). The best time to use it is in spring. Class: III.
