ADVENTURE TRAVEL IN CHILE
CANYON EXPLORING IN PUCON
It is a new alternative amongst adventure sports; also called cascading, this activity consists on descending along the waterfalls and canyons combining trekking, rock scaling and swimming techniques in defying rapids.
Usually canyon exploring is realised in dreadful cascades, which are enclosed by intricate natural surroundings that add an extra ingredient of thrill to the experience.
We find the so-called Jump of El Puma within the natural magic of Pucon, a beautiful cascade of 78 metres that is the perfect setting for this activity. Located in the zone of Palguin (at 32 kilometres from the city), it presents evergreen forests with lenga beeches, tipas, raulí, larches, coigües and a variegated minor underbrush.
One needs a suit of neoprene, a helmet, water shoes and a harness, equipment that can be found in Pucon, along with specialised guides.
The adventure lasts between 5 and 8 hours.
