Ropes, harnesses, snap links and solid wooden platforms create a path in the air that allows walking above the treetops and enjoying nature from a different perspective.
The canopy is a sort of hanging bridge several feet above the ground, and you get a different vision of the extremely rich nature of Pucon while walking on it. This activity is suitable for the entire family, all you need is to be in good physical conditions and not suffer from acrophobia.
There are two canopies in Pucon:
- Arboloco Canopy: it offers travellers several trails "in the air" that allow discovering the forest of Valdivia and crossing the vertiginous waters of the Trancura River. The height of the different sections of the canopy fluctuates between four and twenty five metres and "hikers" will watch the treetops of coihues and oaks, amongst others.
It is located at the kilometre 14 of the international road to Pucon, and is open to the public everyday between 10:00 and 19:00 hours.
- Adventure Forest Canopy: it is located in a kind of island formed by the Trancura River and hefty forests of oaks, coihues, elms and copihues. The canopy begins at a platform 20 metres high and climbs up to 25 metres.
It is situated at the kilometre 10 of the road leading to Caburgua, Metreñehue Sector. They open everyday and travellers will find specialised guides and an adequate infrastructure, with playground areas for children, sweetshop, dressing rooms and bathrooms.
